About us

OVER 46 YEARS IN BUSINESS!!

Fasano Corporation, Inc. was founded in 1972 by Albert and Ronald Fasano with only six Tornos Swiss-type screw machines.  Over time, many more machines were added.  We occupy a modern building and have updated many of our older cam machines to six Swiss CNC machines.  We still, however, retain four of the cam operated machines.

Our ability to survive as a small business is based on our high standards for quality control.  We are a small machine shop with a reputation for taking pride in our workmanship.  We take the time to do the job right the first time.

Ronald Fasano, Vice President,  is an expert machinist and cam maker with over 50 years of experience.  He holds a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from Roger Williams College.  He is now joined by his son, Ronald, who also hold a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from the University of Rhode Island.

QUALITY

We pride ourselves on maintaining a clean, efficient shop and setting high standards for quality control  All incoming material is inspected and certified by our suppliers.  Certifications are also required from firms on any outside work to be done, such as heat treating and plating.  We work as a partner with our customers, vendors, and employees.  Our specialty has always been high quality, close tolerance, precision work.

RESPONSIBILITY

Environmentally, we extract the cutting oils from 100% of the chips that leave our facility.  The oils are then reused and the metals are sold as scrap.

IN REMEMBRANCE OF ALBERT C. FASANO, PRESIDENT

ALBERT GREW UP NUMBER 9 OF 10 CHILDREN.  HE LEFT SCHOOL IN THE 10TH GRADE TO HELP SUPPORT THE FAMILY.  HIS FIRST JOB WAS IN A DRUG STORE WITH A SODA FOUNTAIN, WHERE HE HIS WIFE.   AFTER THE START OF WWII, HE JOINED THE NAVY AND WAS ASSIGNED TO THE AIRCRAFT CARRIER USS TICONDEROGA, WHERE HE BECAME A LIBRARIAN AND CHAPLIN’S ASSISTANT.  THE SHIP ENGAGED IN MANY BATTLES DURING THE WAR, WHICH HE WROTE DAILY ABOUT IN HIS JOURNAL.

HE CAME HOME IN DECEMBER 1945, AND THEN GOT MARRIED.  HE WORKED FOR A SHORT TIME WITH HIS BROTHER AT THOMPSON SAW COMPANY.  THEN HE RAN SCREW MACHINES AT THE NEW HAVEN CLOCK SHOP, WHERE MY MOM ALSO WORKED.  HE ADVANCED QUICKLY THERE, AND A GERMAN SWISS MASTER MACHINIST ASKED HIM IF HE WANTED TO COME WITH HIM TO THE GRUEN WATCH COMPANY IN NEW YORK CITY.  HE WOULD TAKE THE TRAIN SUNDAY NIGHT FROM NEW HAVEN TO NEW YORK, STAYING THE WEEK.    IT WASN’T LONG WHEN THEY OFFERED HIM A PROMOTION TO RELOCATE TO CINNCINATI, OHIO, TO SET UP AND RUN PARTS FOR A MILITARY CONTRACT.

AGAIN, IN A VERY SHORT PERIOD, A SALESMAN WORKING WITH THE COMPANY HEARD THAT THERE WAS AN EXCELLENT SETUP MAN IN THE SCREW MACHINE DEPARTMENT.  IT HAPPENS THAT THIS SALESMAN WAS ALSO WORKING WITH A COMPANY, OSTBY & BARTON CO., IN PROVIDENCE, RI, AND THEY WERE LOOKING TO START A SCREW MACHINE DEPARTMENT.  HE GOT THE POSITION AND MOVED AGAIN, THIS TIME WITH TWO SONS.  ONCE HE GOT THE NEW SCREW MACHINE DEPARTMENT UP AND RUNNING, HE QUICKLY ROSE TO A MANAGERIAL POSITION, BECOMING PLANT MANGER.  AFTER 28 YEARS, HE LEFT TO BE IN THE SCREW MACHINE BUSINESS AGAIN, THIS TIME WITH HIS SON RON, IN THE BUSINESS THEY HAD STARTED TOGETHER A HALF DOZEN YEARS BEFORE.  IT TOOK RON MANY YEARS WORKING WITH HIM TO UNDERSTAND HOW HE BECAME SUCH A GREAT PERFORMER.

FROM CHILDHOOD HE, AS WELL HIS BROTHERS AND SISTERS, DEMONSTRATED INTERPERSONAL SKILLS—PEOPLE SKILLS—TRAITS, LIKE BEING SENSITIVE, FRIENDLY, RESPECTFUL, HONEST, TRUSTWORTHY, HELPFUL, CONSIDERATE, AND DEFINITELY PATIENT.  HE WAS ABLE TO COMMUNICATE WELL BOTH IN WRITING AND SPEAKING, AND JUST BY LISTENING, WHILE BEING OPENMINDED, POSITIVE, AND CONSIDERATE.  THESE TRAITS HE SPENT HIS LIFE WORKING HARD TO IMPROVE UPON UNSELFISHLY FOR HIS FAMILY. HE LED BY EXAMPLE.  HE WAS UNDERSTANDING AND SENSITIVE TO OTHERS.  HE REACHED OUT TO HELP PEOPLE ACHIEVE THEIR GOALS WITHOUT EXPECTING ANYTHING IN RETURN.

EVEN AFTER RETIRING AT THE AGE OF 90, HE KEPT UP TO DATE ON WHAT WAS GOING ON IN THE BUSINESS, SHARING ADVICE WHEN HE COULD.  HE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED BY ALL OF OUR HERE AT FASANO CORPORATION, AS WELL AS OUR LONG TIME CUSTOMERS WHO DEALT WITH HIM.
